I’m feeling a little guilty. Guilty because there simply aren’t enough hours in a day to accomplish everything that needs to be accomplished, or everything that my heart desires. Nevermind the garden which is full of weeds, or the pantry which is a royal mess. Or even the bookshelves in my attic library which are now unceremoniously crammed with magazines instead of only books.
It’s the fact that I do not have enough time to accomplish the things I really enjoy that sometimes gets to me. Like blogging more, accepting more press invites or making more YouTube videos. I know I shouldn’t be complaining. After all, a day doesn’t go by without me feeling incredibly grateful for being able to live my childhood dream — I am a writer! And not a starving one either!
But sometimes — and that’s a reality everyone with their own company faces — things have to be put on hold. If a client calls with an assignment, I will always try to fit them into my schedule (even if that means working weekends). That’s basically what happened somewhere in the middle of June. Not one major client approached me, but at the same time, I also started working as a journalist for another magazine, and boy were the assignments just pouring in! I am SO incredibly glad that I managed two weeks in France! For a while, I thought I would barely have time to breathe!
But what am I going on about, you ask? Well, my YouTube channel. After a long absence, I am ready to get back in front of the camera and bring you more delicious and easy recipes straight from my kitchen and heart! I did decide, however, to not only focus on French food, but to also include a wide variety of foods and kitchens. So expect everything from Latin American food (can’t forget my roots!) to lots of baked treats, quick snacks, weekday lunches, and foods to keep those kids of ours happy (and healthy)!
I do hope you will join me and subscribe to my channel! See you there??

My NEW YouTube Cooking Channel!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92G83ykvL-U#action=share
As some of you may know, this past Sunday I finally opened my new YouTube gourmet channel, La Douce Vie Food! I had been toying with the idea for a while, but didn’t really have the guts to put my thoughts into action. Getting up in front of a camera isn’t easy, and let’s be honest, there are more than enough cooking channels on YouTube. What would I have to offer? How could I contribute to that immense YouTube community and hopefully bring something to viewers that would be enjoyable and encourage them to keep coming back?
Cooking, for me, has been more than just a way to survive or make a living — it is an act of love. Whether it be making a nice dinner for my family or cooking for friends and welcoming them to a beautifully and sumptuously set table, the time I spend in the kitchen always involves a hearty dose of passion. That doesn’t mean I cook difficult or complicated dishes. In fact, quite the opposite. Pure, good ingredients, simple and, most importantly, cooked, served and eaten with love. For me, those are the key components that amount to a delicious meal which will truly be enjoyed and remembered.
French cooking has all those factors, in my opinion. I have never been so influenced by anything as much as I have by how the French cook and eat. In France, food is important and food is enjoyed. No matter how simple it is. One of the best things I ever ate in France was a salad of sliced, sweet, sun-ripe Marmande tomatoes topped with nothing more than a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper. The tomatoes were not only at their prime, but they were sliced and seasoned on the spot, and served with a smile. How could eating them be anything but pure joy?
So that’s why I decided to devote my channel to the French cooking and eating philosophy. That doesn’t mean I’ll only be making French food though. The common element in all my videos will be pure and fuss-free food. What do I have to offer? My passion — not just for the act of cooking, but for the act of sharing and eating food with love. My goal is to inspire you to cook with good products and relish even the simplest of meals.
And because wine is also something that brings me great pleasure, I decided to share that passion with you as well. I am by no means a wine snob nor an accredited connoisseur, but I do know what I love and how to enjoy it most.
I really hope to inspire you with my channel, and it would really be fantastic if you came along with me on this new adventure. Let me know what you think or what you want to see. I’m here to interact with you, my viewers! Expect new videos every week… and, expect to enjoy! See you at La Douce Vie Food!
