I remember when Hans and Kirstie used to go blackberry picking. We were still living in our old house, and not far from us there were several, large blackberry bushes. When late August rolled around, it seemed as though the whole neighborhood was taking advantage of this seasonal free-for-all.
Yesterday was one of those days. When hubby arrived home from work, a little after half past seven, I was still busy ticking away at my laptop, totally absorbed in my own work, and with not even the slightest clue (or care) about what we should have for dinner. A situation like that usually means we’ll both hop in the car, head to the nearest shop and discuss what we’d like to eat on the way there.
Unfortunately (at least in my book), this is becoming a bit of a habit.
I am always a little sad when summer starts to draw to an end and the air gets that noticeable chill that makes you realize it’s time to get the sweaters back down from the attic and put the breezy summer dresses away. While I do like the fall, I am not really very particular about the winter. Cold weather and I just aren’t a good match. But before that real chill starts to set in, there are a lot of things to look forward to as the season starts to change.
